Dr. Feride Rushiti, a prominent human rights advocate from Kosovo, has been officially nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize by the Member of the Swedish Parliament, Mr. Magnus Jacobsson.Rushiti is the founder and executive director of the Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims (KRCT), an organization dedicated to providing support to survivors of war-related trauma, including sexual violence and torture.

Fourth Edition of the Albanians for America (AFA) Newsletter
On February 3, 2025, the Albanian American Community of Illinois, alongside several Albanian-American organizations, issued a formal letter to the Chicago Bulls and United Center. The letter expressed deep concern over a halftime performance during the “Serbian Heritage Night” on January 27, which featured nationalistic imagery promoting a “Greater Serbia” narrative, including a banner displaying a Serbian flag over Kosovo.
